In the spring of 2025 we met with Jerrit to replace his worn, rotting wood deck with something truly special. After extensive consultation including multiple site visits and design changes, we landed on a multi-tiered, multi-function deck that really delivers. He went with Fiberon Moringa for the main boards with Earl Grey fascia and skirting, which gives the whole deck a warm and welcoming feel. The upper level features diagonal boards while the lower level is traditional horizontal, and the greys tie everything into the house while the brown border adds some great contrast. Double borders with multiple custom inlays and wrap-around stairs connect the deck levels, creating a nice flow between the hot tub area, built-in kitchen, and BBQ area.
The hot tub area features 8×8 fir posts stained black and installed with custom bracketry, along with a custom-built privacy wall made from Yellow Balau hardwood. We built an intimate BBQ and kitchen area for family meals, complete with a bar that seats up to five people, a built-in BBQ and burner area, and waterfall tiles. The kitchen area is covered by a fir pergola supported by 6×6 fir beams stained black, with Yellow Balau privacy wall and cabinet facing to finish it all off!
